Community Meal Clean-up Crew

For Sent Ones Ministry

Date: Third Thursday of the month (6:00-7:30 PM)

Love the satisfaction of a job well done? Join the clean-up crew for our monthly community meal. This vital, behind-the-scenes role helps ensure our events run smoothly from start to finish. It's a quick, hands-on way to make a big difference in just a short amount of time!

Donation Sorting & Organizing

For Ferndale Community Services

Be the vital first step in getting clothing and essential goods to our neighbors. Volunteering to sort through donations helps us keep the shelves of our free clothing bank stocked and ready for the community. This hands-on role is perfect for those who love to organize and see immediate results.

Severe Weather Shelter Volunteer

For Ferndale Community Services

Commitment: On-call during severe weather events (November - March)

Be the warmth on a cold night. Our Severe Weather Shelter provides a safe, welcoming space for our unhoused neighbors when temperatures become dangerous. We're looking for compassionate volunteers to help with a variety of tasks that ensure our guests are safe and cared for. This is a powerful way to make a direct and immediate difference.

Grocery Rescue and Home Delivery Drivers and Assistants

For the Ferndale Food Bank

We're looking for volunteers to assist with our Grocery Rescue and Home Delivery program. These Volunteers drive food bank vehicles to pick up donations from grocery stores to bring back to the food bank, or deliver pre-packed delivery boxes from the food bank to clients at their home. This is a fun, active role for folks looking to close the gaps on hunger in Whatcom County!

Downtown Committee Member

Commitment: One meeting per month

Have a passion for making downtown Ferndale a vibrant and thriving place? Join one of four committees and help turn your ideas into reality! As a committee member, you'll help decide and execute projects that make a real difference. Choose the area that best fits your interests:

• Economic Vitality: Support local businesses, attract new ones, and help strengthen our downtown economy.

• Design: Focus on beautification, signage, lighting, and creating inviting public spaces.

• Promotion: Plan and promote events like Oktoberfest, Downtown Distilled, and other activities that bring people downtown.

• Outreach: Build partnerships, welcome new members, and connect with community organizations.
